Our Chief Consultant's Indigenous Liaison experience was first gained while working to bridge the gap between cultures in the South American Andes (Alta-Plano) with the Amara Natives and Australian livestock importers. These skills were further honed working with Torres Strait Islanders in the Australian Defence Force in Far North Queensland and on Operations with Special Forces Mentoring Teams in Afghanistan. This experience was galvanised when the LSI Chief Consultant was employed with the United Nations Security and Safety Service in New York and in Guatemala City:

It has been the experience at LSI that a base similarity of respect for fellow human beings can be found at the core of most organised religions. Once this core is tactfully identified, peaceful communication and negotiation appropriately becomes the preferred means of addressing intercultural conflict.

This delicate process can be an extremely complex rollercoaster ride for all parties concerned. However, the key LSI strategy is to identify and celebrate shared similarities, while encouraging and generating respect for cultural differences.

In high risk environments overseas, particularly in the process of "first contact" or "green site" surveys, LSI has the field experience, competency and relevant expertise to safely represent a client on new ground. Appropriate and professional liaison with local law enforcement and key regional stakeholders or indigenous leadership is the vital first engagement phase of any offshore project. LSI can effectively support this first engagement phase to reduce real-world risk.
